This bear fetish backpack is a unique piece of art from Navajo artist Bessie Smith. She carved the bear from petrified wood, which forms when silicon dioxide replaces wood that has died and degraded. The result is a tree that has turned completely into stone! This earthy piece is a wonderful mantle or bookshelf accent.
